While vacationing in Georgia, I stumbled upon a local bookstore. I knew I wanted to support their store, but I was not looking for a specific book to purchase. Enter the “Blind Date with a Book”. This bookstore had an entire section of blind dates. I chose a book that I thought sounded interesting based off of the label. That book turned out to be a book I would not have picked for myself, but was easily a 5-star read. 

Since then, ordinary book shopping has never felt the same. I always know what book I am looking for, so I walk into the store (or click “add to cart”) and start reading. Reading slumps were real, as this process became repetitive. I constantly think back to the excitement I had from the time I purchased my “blind date” until I unwrapped the paper to reveal my next obsession.
